Love10 FAQs

Isn't this a horrible time financially, what about the economy?

You’re right it’s terrible. Oh, you were looking for more than that? Sorry – can’t sugar coat it.
We aren’t oblivious to the current economic situation, but perhaps the better question is: If this is a bad time economically, how can I put my trust in God and take Him up on his promise that whatever I give will be returned to me with interest? (Luke 6:38) Love10 isn’t about money, it’s about each of our spiritual growth, the unity of our church around mission, and the multiplication of God-stories. Whatever money God provides, however much or little, will determine the speed and timing of the Love10 vision. We are committed to incurring no new debt for these projects.

Good economy or bad, God is faithful to his people, take Him up on his word and watch the blessings unfold.

When would the Love10 projects begin?

How does immediately sound? Some of the preliminary work is already being done.

• ‘Our Jerusalem’ – Expansion of our Gilead facility is set to begin in fall 2011.

• ‘Our Judea’ – Our first new church launched August 2011.

• ‘Our Samaria’- All of 2011 will see relationship-building events and projects to engage Lake Forest people to create a foundation of LOVE and friendship with the residents of Huntington Green. A social entrepreneurship business, and ministry center, will likely be built in 2012 after local needs have been assessed.

• The three-year Spiritual Leadership Formation Plan will kickoff January 2011 with existing LFC leaders.

Will my contribution be made public?

No. Only the total of all commitments received will be announced.

What is the estimated cost of these projects?

$4 million would fully fund all of our Acts 1:8 projects. Plus, we hope to reduce our current mortgage debt by up to $750,000.

How much money are we hoping to receive?

Our goal is to remain in a good financial position with as little debt as possible. So honestly, whatever God provides through all of our sacrificial giving, whether $100,000 or $4.7 million, we will celebrate if this amount is from faith! That total will determine the timing and prioritization of our Love10 projects over the next three years. Therefore we are leaving the final decisions about the full projects until after Love10 is completed on October 31. To reiterate – we are not focused on a single giving goal so much as each person’s fresh step of loving sacrificially through their own faith-oriented giving decision.

How can I give most strategically?

Creatively give as much of your pledge as possible up front, by giving a cash gift. Please email Pastor Mike Moses at spowell@lakeforest.org to set up a meeting to discuss how YOU can get involved with Love10.

What about my regular giving?

Your commitment to Love10 should be an amount God leads you to give over and above your regular offerings. We must maintain our giving to the operating budget so that day-to-day church ministry and mission will be unaffected.

Is this even possible?

“God can do anything, you know – far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He is not going to do it by pushing us around, but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us.” Ephesians 3:20 (The Message)
