The Plunge is essentially a three-day mission trip – to Charlotte. You will live, serve and worship as you uncover how God is at work in our own backyard through our missio Dei partner organizations. Participants will visit ministries to see how God and God’s people minister to those in need…and join them in their work. On that Sunday, you will worship in a church with a style and community different than our own.

FAQs
Q) Do I have to be there the whole time?
A) Yes. Plunge participants (Plungers) will be expected to stay with the group for that whole time.
Q) What are we going to do?
A) We will visit various ministries throughout the city, seeing what God is doing in Charlotte firsthand. We will have the opportunity to meet with people served by these various ministries and to serve through several of them. We will worship at a predominately African-American church (in the same denomination as LFC). And we will have a great – if not occasionally intense – time.

A) At a church in Charlotte
Q) Why should I take the Plunge?
A) The Urban Plunge is essentially a mission trip to Charlotte. Over three days, you will gain a new appreciation for all that God is doing in Charlotte and will have new clarity about how you might join God’s mission in our own backyard.
Q) Can my student come?
A) Yes. Mature high school students, esp. those who have experience ministering to the poor, are invited to attend, provided that they have a parent or guardian on the Plunge. And provided that they can miss school on Friday.
Q) How do I sign up?
A) Email Anna Wulsin and then give her a check for $100 (made out to LFC with “Urban Plunge” in memo line).
Q) How many spots are available?
A) The team can have up to 20 people on it, with spots filled on a “first come, first serve” basis. There will be a Waiting List if need be.
