Following Jesus is more than simply sitting and soaking. It’s also about living and going – living on the missio Dei (mission of God) and thus going to people who are hurting and vulnerable and sharing God’s love with our actions and words.
In Our Community
While there are some regular opportunities to serve through LFC, we also encourage you to GO FOR IT on your own. Whether you hold a drive in your neighborhood, volunteer regularly through a partner ministry, or form a long-term relationship with a family transitioning from homelessness, you can join the missio Dei without leaving Charlotte.

2013 missio Dei Local Tour
This summer, while many in the Lake Forest tribe head off on mission trips to Athens County, Bolivia and beyond, you can minister to those in need right here in Mecklenburg county through Lake Forest’s second annual missio Dei Local Summer Tour.
For three full weeks – one in May, June and July – we’ll provide numerous opportunities to demonstrate and experience the love of Jesus by teaming up with several of our local missio Dei partner organizations.

Beyond Our Community
Each year, we send teams around the world charging them to share God’s love with cultures and people who are different from us. You can GO FOR IT by joining these teams or actively sending them with your prayers and financial support. Whether you provide clothes or a hug for a street child, whether you pray for or serve alongside a pastor in another country, you can join the missio Dei beyond our community.
