For Better or For Kids: A Vow to Love Your Spouse with Kids in the House (This class has reached its 25-person limit.)
Leader: Bekah Stitt
Marriage has many challenges on its own, and when you combine kids in the mix, it can seem overwhelming to find time to invest in both. For Better or For Kids is a study that will help you in your marriage as well as encourage you with your children. This book will help build a God-centered marriage instead of a child-centered or me-centered marriage, avoiding the dangers of spouse-neglect and self-neglect. We will learn to effectively communicate in the chaos and find balance in the busyness. Join us in this study as we work on making a vow to love our spouse even with kids in the house.
Book Needed: “For Better or for Kids: A Vow to Love Your Spouse with Kids in the House” by Ruth and Patrick Schwenk
Leader: Maria Furlough

Let’s talk about moving from complacency and self-sufficiency to boldness in Jesus. Let’s claim God-confidence in our relationships and daily activities. Happy is good. Holy is better.
Your marriage is more than a sacred covenant with another person. It is a spiritual discipline designed to help you know God better, trust him more fully, and love him more deeply. What if God’s primary intent for your marriage isn’t to make you happy . . . but holy?
Based on teachings from the book Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas, this class doesn’t just offer techniques to make a marriage happier. It does contain practical tools, but what married Christians most need is help in becoming holier husbands and wives. Sacred Marriage offers that help with insights from Scripture, church history, time tested wisdom from Christian classics, and examples from today’s marriages.
Book needed: Sacred Marriage Participants Guide

God’s design for marriage includes intimacy. But intimacy is also one of the top issues people face in their marriages (even according to a survey conducted at LFC). Why? Because men and women experience and initiate closeness with one another in different ways. To cut to the chase: most men begin with sex and most women begin with emotional connection. These differences cause many couples to want to throw their hands up and quit – but in doing so, we miss out on one of the sweetest aspects of our marriages.
That’s why LFC’s Marriage Ministry team wants to help open healthy and honest discussion regarding intimacy and provide tools couples can use to break the ice and grow closer with one another. In this workshop, we’ll spend time talking as a group and then break into smaller groups so we can further dive into topics.
We’re determined to laugh a lot, too!
