Meet Travis Jenkins, Our New Student Ministry Director

We are thrilled to announce that Travis Jenkins will be our next Student Ministry Director. Travis and his family – wife Mary and young daughters Leanna and Mallory – will be joining us in early June from Carthage, Texas. Travis is richly experienced, energetic and has always felt a deep calling to serve youth and partner with families. His passion is to see students become whom God created them to be and equip them to be valuable, engaged and connected members of the Body of Christ.

Travis will be joining our staff in early June.

On Sundays

Middle and High School students are encouraged to attend Sunday morning worship in Davidson or Huntersville with their family and friends.

Mid-Week Discipleship at LFC-Huntersville: Season Finale is May 23

During the school year, our Middle and High Students gather on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:15pm for teaching. Middle School will meet in the Core Room and High School will meet in the Quad Room. This is a time for those students who want to grow and move forward with their relationship with God. Dinner will be available beginning at 6:30pm in the Student Cafe ($4 gets you a meal) for those coming from after-school activities, practice or work.

2012 Summer Mission Trips

Students can register at Wednesday Night Discipleship, or by texting 704 491-4748. If registering by text, a deposit must be received within one week to remain registered. Space is limited for both trips. Please register early to ensure your spot!

High School Mission Trip: Pittsburgh Project (Rising 9th Grade and up)

Overview: Mission work in inner-city Pittsburgh through the mission organization Pittsburgh Project.
Dates: Saturday, June 16 – Saturday, June 23
Cost: $450
Student Expense (out of pocket on trip): Five meals on travel days (2 meals Saturday, 1 Sunday, 2 Saturday on return)

Tentative Schedule:

  • Saturday, June 16 – Travel Day (leave early morning) staying at North Park Church EPC / Movie in the evening
  • Sunday, June 17 – Breakfast at North Park, attend service, Lunch, Check in to Pittsburgh Project at 1:30pm
  • Monday, June 18 – Pittsburgh Project – Mission Work /Evening Program
  • Tuesday, June 19 – Pittsburgh Project – Mission Work / Evening Program
  • Wednesday, June 20 – Pittsburgh Project – Mission Work / Evening Program
  • Thursday, June 21 – Pittsburgh Project – Mission Work / Evening Free
  • Friday, June 22 – Pittsburgh Project – Mission Work / Evening Program
  • Saturday, June 23 – Check out of Pittsburgh Project around 10am / Travel Home arriving 7pm

 

Middle School: Myrtle Beach Trip (Rising 6th Grade thru 8th)

Overview: A week at the beach with a mission focus
Dates: Monday, July 9 – Friday, July 13
Cost: $300
Student Expense (out of pocket cost): None! This trip is all-inclusive.

Tentative Schedule:

  • Monday, July 9 – Travel Day leaving after lunch
  • Tuesday, July 10 – Day at the beach with activities
  • Wednesday, July 11 – Service Day working local mission organizations
  • Thursday, July 12 – Day at the beach with activities
  • Friday, July 13 – Travel Day; Back to church around 1pm
