Dear friends,
If you weren’t in church last Sunday, July 24, I want to share with you the news that Mike and I shared with the congregation during our worship services. After two and half years of serving as Lake Forest’s first Executive Director, I have made the decision to step down from this staff leadership role. This is a decision that Holly (my wife) and I make with tremendous peace. After several weeks of focused prayer and seeking wise counsel from lifelong friends and mentors, we trust that this is the step the Lord is asking us to take, and we trust in His provision for our family and for our church during this time of transition.
While I will be leaving this staff position, I will not be leaving the Lake Forest leadership team, and will be stepping back into the role of ruling elder. Our family loves this church and is excited to be a part of its mission to love people as they discover and live out their role in God’s story.
So please pray (which I hope you do often) for the leaders of our church. We are blessed with a team of men and women on our staff and elders who have a deep love and passion for our church, for you – the people of Lake Forest, and for Christ. Pray that passion stays strong and that their unity would run deep.
And please pray for the Worsley family as we set out on God’s next great adventure for our crazy crew. And finally, thank you for the awesome privilege it has been to serve Lake Forest in a staff role.
